Jayne advocates for natural over chemically-altered options, helping clients and other stylists avoid harsh chemicals, synthetics, and toxic hair products. “Your hair’s natural oils are the best styling agent available,” she says. “Hair shouldn’t be forced into an unnatural shape or blow-dried into submission. I’ve made it a mission to push the industry to take notice: There are so many harmful toxins and synthetics that plague beauty salons, hairstylists, and clients.” Edo Salon uses only earth-friendly, organic, eco-conscious tools and materials.

Now famous for her signature razor-cutting methods, Jayne is responsible for popularizing the shag haircut and prompting people around the world to throw away their curling irons. As Creative Director of Edo, her focus has shifted from working directly with clients to full-time education, sharing her iconic techniques with both amateur and professional hairstylists. For the past several years, she’s traveled the globe teaching thousands of stylists her distinct method of "carving petals” to frame the face. “I believe people have the right to cut their own hair,” she says. “It’s empowering. I want to empower home-stylists to experiment, and inspire professional stylists to stay relevant in an ever-changing industry. We’re all artists.” Jane’s work and international haircutting classes have been featured in The New York Times, Forbes, and CNN.

Chri was trained by the original Creative Directors of famed NYC salon Bumble and Bumble as well as Vidal Sassoon and Soho-based celebrity hair stylist Nick Arrojo. She’s always ready to try something new, and her passion for discovering the latest styling and cutting techniques infuses Edo with fresh inspiration year-round. She’s taken every cutting class offered at Bumble and Bumble in the past twenty years, training her eye to identify specific facial features and shapes as well as hair textures and cowlicks, which helps her create specific styles to match each client’s look and personal style. Her extensive knowledge benefits everyone at Edo: She’s the lead educator for the salon’s up-and-coming stylists.

As co-founder and Creative Director of the salon and gallery, Chri also curates the salon’s art collection and fine-tunes the space’s eclectic, sophisticated design, gathering pieces from vintage shops across the Bay Area. She often weaves her profound love for vintage shapes, retro fashion, and Middleeastern textile colors and patterns into her work: “I draw inspiration from runway fashion, streetwear, even old movies. I love 1920s flapper bobs, Jane Fonda’s 70s shag in Klute, and Princess Diana’s famous feathered bob in the 80s. I like to take an iconic vintage cut and give it a modern twist.”
