san francisco’s creative
hair salon + gallery
Welcome to EDO Salon, where fashion, design and art come together in San Francisco’s vibrant Lower Haight district. Equal parts boutique hair salon and speakeasy gallery space, the salon is here to celebrate your special and personal style.
Wrapped around the corner of Haight and Steiner, our little gem of a salon is effortlessly chic and washed in light. We're all about lightening our impact on the planet too, bringing you pure, organic hair care lines by Davines and EVO. You’ll also find a selection of eclectic gifts, so pop in to stock up or find something for a lucky friend.
Hair styling is an art, and we love to surround ourselves with creativity. In the salon, we've featured art exhibits with fiberglass boats hanging from the ceiling, feathers in plastic boxes, a light-up blown glass installation, silk screened textiles, and countless group shows of painters, photographers and collage artists. Come enjoy the Edo experience!

organic color, cut, creative color +
EDO is always a style leader, and we're famous for our unique culture of organic hair cutting, beautiful creative color and seamless balayage highlighting.
Our stylists are chosen with love and trained in-house to refine their eye and perfect our personalized approach to hair styling. We're experts at reading your head shape, hair growth patterns and texture, as well as matching your cut and color to your personal style.
EDO cuts naturally accentuate your best features -- your lips, cheekbones or eyes. With rich, beautiful and never brassy color, we can even make your skin tone look more fresh and youthful.
We offer Organic Color Systems color. It is the only true-to-chart, amonia-free, professional only, permanent salon exclusive hair color utilizing natural oils that produce the healthiest, richest, colors imaginable. The ingredients are rich in certified organic ingredients, natural plant extracts, amino-acids, anti-oxidents, vitamins and other nutrients to make sure your hair is left as healthy and vibrant as possible.
We’re inspired to keep your look current and seasonal, but we also like to give a nod to the past:
- romantic, Victorian styling for weddings
- bobs from the 1920s
- old Hollywood 1940s glamour
- fabulous beehives, pixies and geometrics of the '60s
- loose, long waves of the '70s
- punk from the '80s
- our favorite shag of the '90s
