Wrapped around the corner of Haight and Steiner in San Francisco’s vibrantly eclectic Lower Haight district, effortlessly sheek and washed in light, is our little gem of a business called EDO.
EDO Salon merges fashion, design and art. One part boutique hair salon, one part speakeasy gallery space, we pride ourselves in celebrating the special and personal style in each of our clients. What we are famous for, is our unique culture of organic hair cutting and seamless hair painting techniques.
We carefully chose each stylist with love and spend time to train and refine their eye. Our team knows how to read your head shape, your growth patterns, your texture and your personal style. We work with what naturally will look amazing on you. We will accentuate your best features, whether it be your lips, your cheekbones or your eyes that could stand out more. With color, we can even go as far as to make your skin tone look more fresh and youthful, always rich and beautiful never brassy.
We like to give a nod to the past- from romantic, Victorian styling for weddings, bobs from the 1920’s, old Hollywood 1940’s glamour, the fabulous beehives, pixies and geometric shapes of the 60’s, and to loose,
long waves of the 70’s, everything punk from the 80’s and our favorite shag of the 90’s. That said, we are inspired to keep all of our looks current and seasonal. Our hair heroes are Jane Fonda, Louis Brookes, Mary Quan, and Miss Bridget Bardot.
The best thing about EDO, is that you see an incredible new art installation adorning our walls. We have had it all, from fiber glass boats hanging from our ceiling, to feathers in plastic boxes in our front windows, lite up blown glass installation, silk screened textiles, and countless group shows of painters, photographers and collage artist.
