SF Editorial Makeover -- Chic Hair Color & Updos

We got together last Thursday for a quick but beautiful photo shoot at Edo Salon in SF's Lower Haight. We wanted to show off some gorgeous color and chic updos by a couple of Edo's top stylists.

Our model, Mira, found us through Corinna, a once traveling Bumble and Bumble educator who's now behind the chair at Edo. We had a blast as Corinna chopped off a few inches to collarbone length. Then we took Mira from pastel pink & blonde to a fiery red. Later on, colorist Seana Tuohy muted down the makeover to a more golden red and what a difference it's made. Her blue eyes pop and her color is still vibrant but natural.

Toussled waves, loose pompadour and a twist on the topknot, Corinna Hernandez worked her magic with Bumble's Thickening Mouse and a junior Mason Pearson brush.

Winter Hair: Updo's

The weather here in San Francisco has been really chilly lately...but that doesn't mean you have to feel the need to hide your locks under hats and scarves until Spring! Here are some winter updo inspirations...

I love the use of braids and the winter hair accessories in this updo.

Even the simplest of updo's can make you feel polished and sophisticated.

Have short hair? Try this easy braid starting from one side and pin. Then
pin the rest of your remaining hair underneath for a quick and chic style.

Heather Dean did this elegant side french twist updo here at Edo Salon for a wedding attendee.

This style was done by Becky here at Edo, a perfectly un-done updo!

Nicole did this updo at Edo for a NYE party...love the little diamond starfish resting on the curls.

Happy Winter Updo Styling!
xoxo, Edo

Beachy Hair & Effortless Updo's

Oh Summer time.

It seems like we wait all year long for you...especially in the always chilly San Francisco. There's an inspiring energy that comes with the warm weather and sunlight and such an overwhelming urge to bust out those cute, colorful dresses and let your hair run wild. In honor of summertime and the beachy hair trend, this year we had a fun little summer-surf event focused around Bumble and Bumble's infamous Surf Spray. This little blue bottle of sea salt goodness makes you look and feel summery...even when you're miles from shore.

What better way to get the good vibes flowing than to mix up some cocktails, spin 60's records and style some hair.

Check out these cute photos where we taught easy ways to look fabulous in 20 minutes or less.

We will always love the beautiful hairstyles from the 60's. Beehives, bouffants, hair flips and the Bridget Bardot. We're taking advantage of summer hairstyles, even if it is 60 degrees outside :)

until next time,
