Your hair helped create an Andy Goldsworthy sculpture!

Your hair helped create a beautiful sculpture!

By: Andy Goldsworthy

This Spring, Edo Salon saved bags of hair to donate towards one of Andy Goldsworthy's iconic creations. Known for producing on-site sculptures in natural and urban settings, Andy has taken over the Presidio with his projects Spire and Wood lineNow his newest creation and first indoors is an exhibition called Tree Fall and your hair helped contribute!

Tree Fall is comprised of a tree trunk removed from the Presidio, sculpted with hair clippings from Edo Salon and mixed with clay. The exhibit shows a dried and cracked, beautiful organic pattern to explore what occurs beneath the ground.

"The sculpture is comprised of a tree trunk removed as part of the Presidio Parkway project, suspended inside the building and illustrates the relationship between the natural and built environments."

Tree Fall is open from October 19th- December 1st. Located in the historic Powder Magazine (Building 95). Goldsworthy in the Presidio is presented by the FOR-SITE Foundation in partnership with the Presidio Trust.

Check it out and see what your hair clippings helped create!
