Beachy Photoshoot

We're finally ready to share these amazing images from the Beach Photoshoot with stylist Seana Tuohy and Tiffany Ward.

Seana's inspiration for the shoot was a mix of tribal and editorial. With some amazing jewelry, and a mix of jumpsuits, we brought this shoot to Gray Whale Cove to create a fun, beachy shoot.

Enjoy!

Seana used Bumble and bumble's Thickening mousse at the crown and Dryspun Thickening Spray for a light, airy texture. Her bun is simple and clean using Bumble's Does it All spray for soft hold.

And my personal favorite...the infamous half-up top knot that was huge this Winter. Root Shadow and highlights also by Seana Tuohy.

Your hair helped create an Andy Goldsworthy sculpture!

Your hair helped create a beautiful sculpture!

TREE FALL
By: Andy Goldsworthy

This Spring, Edo Salon saved bags of hair to donate towards one of Andy Goldsworthy's iconic creations. Known for producing on-site sculptures in natural and urban settings, Andy has taken over the Presidio with his projects Spire and Wood lineNow his newest creation and first indoors is an exhibition called Tree Fall and your hair helped contribute!

Tree Fall is comprised of a tree trunk removed from the Presidio, sculpted with hair clippings from Edo Salon and mixed with clay. The exhibit shows a dried and cracked, beautiful organic pattern to explore what occurs beneath the ground.

"The sculpture is comprised of a tree trunk removed as part of the Presidio Parkway project, suspended inside the building and illustrates the relationship between the natural and built environments."

Tree Fall is open from October 19th- December 1st. Located in the historic Powder Magazine (Building 95). Goldsworthy in the Presidio is presented by the FOR-SITE Foundation in partnership with the Presidio Trust.

Check it out and see what your hair clippings helped create!

Hair Make-Over

It's just a normal Thursday when a new client strolls in to get haircut. Not just any haircut though, a full on make-over. How fun! With hair just below her butt, Jason soon takes on the challenge and starts to chop away in ponytail sections. 1 hour later and Viola. We have a super cute pixie and and a super happy client. She was practically dancing with joy and totally made Jason's morning.

Bye, bye TWO FEET of hair. Hello Mia Farrow.

Love this client and in love with this amazing new haircut.

Texture

Texture.

Recently I've had this obsession with afro's. I am in love with natural texture and wild & crazy hair. Embracing your curl and allowing your beautiful mane to flow freely this summer just feels right.

Some of my favorite Bumble and Bumble cocktails this summer for those textured locks:

1. Mix BB Gel + Hairdressers Oil towel dried and diffused= Medium-light hold with no crunch and a silky, shiny finish.

2. New Thickening Mousse + Texture on towel dried hair --air dried for a firm hold and big, messy curls.

Need more cocktail ideas? Stop by Edo and ask one of our amazing stylists.

Tempting...

Oh how I miss my bob.

All my life I've had short hair and for the first time in a long time, my hair is finally past my shoulders. You always want what you can't have right? Curly hair gals wish for board straight hair and then of course there are us wave-challenged girls who would kill for a Farrah flip and oh-so-beautiful soft curls.--The kind only hot rollers can give.

Not only is this the most perfect little wavy bob but these bangs....THESE BANGS are just too cute for words.

Tempting....

Let the Sunshine In...

This weekend San Francisco brought lots of beautiful rays of sunshine that we reflected on through our styling at Edo.

It's important to take a break in our busy lives and just soak up the warmth and let the sun heal us from our winter woes.

Take a look at what we are doing in the salon to brighten up our looks inside and out...

Our wonderful client Hannah Callaway led us in a posture yoga class in the salon.
We let all that natural light in!

Come pick up one of our bright hair tye's to make your ponytail shimmer in the sun.
We are obsessed!

Love this use of hair painting, our specialty at Edo, to show off highlights by specialist Dae.

This client really brings the warmth with her fiery new color by Nicole.

Feel the sunshine all around.

Edo

In love with bobs... yet again.

Tis the season for more tailored hair. We have been madly in love with removing the old layers and dead, beachy ends. Adorable girl after adorable girl has come to us this fall asking for a more blunt and chic look. Inspired by the 1920's we are having a blast bringing back this classic cut with sweet modern details.

xoxoxo,

Edo

Spooky Wednesday

Don't you just love Halloween? As I walked through the Financial District of San Francisco this morning I felt a little bad snickering to myself. I happened to be the only one in full face paint and costume at 9:30 am surrounded by a sea of bank tellers and lawyers in business suits. 'No costume' rules at work always get me...it's Halloween lovlies! Slap on some face paint and enjoy your day full of costumes, pumpkins and the best part....fun sized Snickers bars :)

Here are some photos of the Edo staff at work today. Mind you, it was mandatory to dress up for our wonderful clients and cute trick-or-treaters so we put some elbow into it

From all of us at Edo Salon, Happy Halloween!
